Description
Research shows that inclusive practices help to reduce turnover, improve attendance and safety records, engage employees, and boost company morale - all of which leads to higher performance in terms of revenue growth. There are many common myths about disabilities and those people who have them, and dispelling these myths is one of the first steps towards creating a province that is more inclusive of the people who call it home.
A BMO survey conducted by Pollara found that 70% of businesses are not hiring people with disabilities, which means that the majority of small businesses are missing out on some incredible, loyal, and dedicated talent. Over 14% of Canadians have a physical disability, and 20% of Canadians have a psychological disability. This highlights the fact that not all disabilities are visible.
