Library Resources for YOUR Business

Developing a business plan requires research and time. Barrie Public Library has a vast array of resources to assist you with your business plan. Learn how to access these resources effectively and efficiently to save your business time and money. An overview of the new SimplyMap database (replaces PCensus and Million Dollar Database) will be provided. Learn how to access the library’s two services to help you start or further develop your business. The two services include the Library Business Plan Basics (formerly Business 101) program offered in partnership with the Greater Barrie Business Enterprise Resource Centre; as well as one-to-one bookable appointments to assist you with your business plan research.

Chantale Boileau is a Community Librarian with the Barrie Public Library. She received her Masters of Library Science from the University of Western Ontario and a B.A. in Communications from the University of Ottawa. As a Community Librarian, she engages the community in dialogue and works to bring forward their interests and vision for the library. Chantale acted as a past Councilor for the Ontario Public Library Association, and has volunteered on various committees for both the Ontario Library Association and Canadian Library Association. Her business interests are influenced by her undergraduate degree with a specialization in organizational communication, planning and research. If you haven't had the chance to make it out to any of our past CBBs, come and see for yourself what a great opportunity networking can be. Sponsored by The Mortgage Wellness Group, CBBs are held on the first Thursday of each month from 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM. Members are encouraged to bring their flyers, brochures, business cards and other promotional material to share and display. For a nominal charge, a full hot breakfast is served.

Please Register before 2:30pm on the day prior to the event. Registrations after that time may not be accepted.

If you are unable to attend, please call 721-5000 to cancel before 12:00pm on the Tuesday prior to the event. Those who are pre-registered but do not attend and have not canceled will be charged for breakfast.
