The Ontario Arts Council Exhibition Assistance programme provides grants of $500 to $1\,500 to assist individual artists with costs related to presenting their work in an exhibition. As a third-party recommender\, the MacLaren takes part in grant decisions by preapproving applications and forwarding them to the OAC for final approval. The OAC Exhibition Assistance programme is open to Ontario-based professional visual artists\, craft artists\, media artists and artist collectives who have a confirmed\, upcoming public exhibition. Ren e van der Avoird holds a B.A. in French Language and Fine Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master?s in Museum Studies from the University of Toronto. Before joining the MacLaren in 2013\, Ren e worked in curatorial\, collections management and gallery administration capacities at institutions including Susan Hobbs Gallery\, the University of Toronto Art Centre\, Montr al Museum of Fine Arts and Stephen Bulger Gallery\, Toronto.
