DESCRIPTION:The Barrie Chamber of Commerce invites you to a Breakfast and Discussion with Hon. John Yakabuski\, Ontario's Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry\, to learn how the government is supporting and growing communities and promoting economic growth within the aggregate industry.\n\n			 \n\n			JOHN YAKABUSKI\n\n			John Yakabuski is the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry. Yakabuski was first elected as the MPP for Renfrew Nipissing Pembroke in 2003. He was re-elected in 2007\, 2011\, 2014 and 2018.\n\n			He was raised on politics\, as his father\, Paul Yakabuski\, served as the MPP for Renfrew South for 24 years.\n\n			\n\n			Formerly a real estate sales representative\, Yakabuski is best known locally as the former owner-operator of Yakabuski's Home Hardware in Barry's Bay\, which he ran for 20 years. Yakabuski is also known for a record of community service\, including to the Royal Canadian Legion\, Madawaska Valley Lions Club and Boy Scouts. As well\, he sat on the steering committee of the Capital Equipment Campaign for St. Francis Memorial Hospital\, and is very active in his church\, St. John's Lutheran Augsburg.\n\n			\n\n			In 2010\, Yakabuski recorded and released his second CD\, "Taking Care\," to raise funds for nine local long-term care homes. His first CD\, "To Your Health\," raised over $50\,000 for the five local hospitals in Renfrew County. Yakabuski was elected to the municipal council in the village of Barry's Bay in 1997.\n\n			\n\n			During that time\, he sat on the transition board\, dealing with the pending amalgamation. Yakabuski grew up in a family of 14 children\, just about enough for a quorum on its own. He and his wife\, Vicky\, have four children and ten grandchildren.\n\n			\n			\n			Please Register before noon on the day prior to the event. Registrations after that time may not be accepted. If you are unable to attend\, please email events@barriechamber.com at least 2 business days prior to the event. Those who are pre-registered but do not attend and have not canceled will be charged for the event.
