\n | \n BOARD ELECTIONS UPDATE:
\n As we noted in our May 2020 update from the President\, the Corporations Act was updated\, allowing us to delay the timing of this year'\;s AGM while we worked through the pandemic and the state of emergency restrictions. After very careful consideration and research into the legality of this extraordinary situation\, your Board of Directors has determined that the most responsible course of action is to stay the current Board until 2021. With our constitutional mandates\, an election at this time could result in replacing half the Board with less than 4 months remaining in the fiscal year\, and then a few months later potentially replacing the other half of the Board in the 2021 election. This could mean a full brand new Board in the midst of a pandemic\; leaving the organization in such a precarious position would be irresponsible\, and your current elected Directors are not willing to take such a risk with the funds that you have invested into your chamber. \n\n With this in mind\, all terms of the current Board will be extended by one year. Holding to our current structure in this way will ensure that the organization has a clear path forward\, and that future volunteers can join the Board confident that they are continuing to build on progress made in recent years. \n\n ATTENDANCE NOTE:
\n The AGM is a closed meeting\, only open to the voting representatives of members in good standing\, and pre-registration is required. Members with annual fees due before March 31\, 2020 are asked to kindly come current by October 12\, 2020 so we can ensure their eligibility and voting rights are in place prior to the AGM. \n | \n
